Barons Kick off Cheer Season at Life University

MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - The Brewton-Parker Barons cheer squad started the 2025 campaign with an open competition on February 23, 2025, at Life University, marking another thrilling season under the leadership of Head Coach Keri Nester, who is entering her fifth year at the helm.

Our very own Barons cheer squad, known for its dynamic routines and spirited performances, faced off against very tough competition form 10 teams at the Life U Cheer Classic. These teams are known for their strength and coordination, and gave their all trying to win points for the Barons.

Coach Nester reflected on her teams performance, "The Brewton-Parker cheerleading team has made strides over the last few years to build our program and presence in the community. This past Sunday was a true display of the hard work these eight individuals have put in since returning in January! Our first performance was great, and all I asked for in the second performance was to increase our showmanship. Before the average was calculated, our score went from 180 in round one to 187.9. This team did everything Hillary and I asked for them to do and then some. I look forward to what we can accomplish as a team next week!" The Barons look to carry the momentum from their first performance into next week.

As Coach Nester continues to enrich the team's skills and fortify their routines, the upcoming event at the SSAC Championships will be a remarkable opportunity to showcase the growth and prowess developed under her guidance. The Barons community is eagerly anticipating a spirited performance that will undoubtedly cheer on our team towards a successful outing.
