MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - In a nail-biting SSAC Conference game on February 8, 2025, the Brewton-Parker Lady Barons secured a narrow victory over the Thomas Night Hawks with a final score of 61-59 at Mount Vernon. The Lady Barons, trailing at halftime with a score of 24-29, made a remarkable comeback to capture the win.

The game saw pivotal performances from Brewton-Parker's leading scorers. Angel McRae, Jasmine Leynard, and Jakayla Peeples led the charge for the Lady Barons. McRae delivered an impressive double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, along with three steals. Leynard topped the scoring with 16 points and added four rebounds and a steal, while Peeples contributed 15 points and two boards to the victory.

Andranique Stewart had the late-game heroics, hitting what would be the game-winning layup with just over two minutes left to go in the game. The Lady Barons buckled down on defense and managed to hold the Night Hawks to only three shots in the remaining two minutes of the game. They also controlled the glass, not giving up any offensive rebounds to the Night Hawks.
