MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - The Barons picked up right where they left off on Friday, jumping on the Bears in the first game of the doubleheader on February 8, 2025. The Barons took the first game 8-4 in seven innings and battled back and forth, trading leads in game two before taking it 12-10. The Barons swept the Bears in their first home stand of the year to improve their record to 5-1.
Game one saw the Barons score five runs in the third inning to take a commanding lead they would not give up.
Grant Cochran got the start for the Barons and threw four complete innings, giving up just two runs to secure the win.
Bryce Morley came in during the seventh to get the save for the Barons. The Barons tallied 10 hits in game one to help them secure the lead and capitalize on the Bears' mistakes to secure the victory.

Marquette Gibson, and
Michael Son were standout performers, with Gibson driving in three runs alongside his three hits and Son blasting a monster home run.
The Barons needed eight different arms on the bump to finally secure the victory. Vincent Perpault came into the game in the fifth, securing the win for the Barons before
Chris Harmon came in to finish the final 3.2 innings. The Barons' bats helped keep them in the game and helped them secure the win.
"Always nice to start the home stand with a sweep. I was happy with our production at the plate. The bats were on fire all weekend long. There is plenty of room for improvement on the defensive side, " stated Head Coach
Aaron Larsen. "This weekend gave us a nice chance to see a bunch of arms out of the pen and help us know what to focus on in practice this week. Now we need to stay focused on our next opponent in Reinhardt," Brewton-Parker now looks forward to their next game against Reinhardt on February 11, 2025, aiming to maintain their strong start to the season.
