MOUNT VERNON, February 11, 2025—The Brewton-Parker Barons took on the Reinhardt Eagles in a gripping non-conference encounter. Unfortunately, the Barons fell to the Eagles in extra innings, 14-9. The Barons were unable to overcome the deficit in the 13th inning.
The Barons' pitching struggled throughout the game. The Barons fell behind five-nothing in the first three innings before a five-run bottom of the third tied the game. The Barons fell behind and chased the Eagles for the remainder of the match before dramatically tying the game in the ninth.
Kendell Wade came in clutch for the Barons, delivering a game-tying home run that forced extra innings under high pressure with two outs on the board.
Head Coach
Aaron Larsen shared his thoughts on the performance: "Reinhardt is an excellent team. It's hard to dig yourself out of multiple deficits. Wade came in clutch and gave us the opportunity to go to extras, but we struggled on the mound. We have to be better on the bump and have the chance to improve coming up this weekend."
Looking forward, the Barons, whose record now stands at 5-2, have a quick turnaround. They are scheduled to face Point University at home on February 14, 2025. The team remains hopeful of regaining its winning form and capitalizing on opportunities to improve its overall play.
