Barons Take Down Bruins

MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - On December 1, 2025, the Brewton-Parker Christian University Barons clinched an 84-66 victory over the Carolina University Bruins at Williams Gymnasium. This win brings the Barons' season record to 7-2, and 1-1 on the season.

The first half started aggressively with Xavier Gordon-Somers hitting the first basket just 50 seconds into the game. Early three-pointers from Jayden Hill and Gil Gonzalez helped establish momentum for Brewton-Parker. Tommy Tisdale III's multiple layups contributed to a scoring run, pushing the Barons to a 12-point lead by the half, 47-35.

In the second half, the Barons extended their lead and kept their momentum going. A standout sequence featured two dunks by Gonzalez, which secured a 19-point lead for Brewton-Parker. The strong defensive and offensive execution ensured the Barons maintained control, and they sealed the victory with a final score of 84-66.

Jayden Hill topped the scoring charts with 20 points, while Jakobe Jones and Gil Gonzalez consistently contributed on both offense and defense. The team showed excellent coordination and capitalized on fast-break opportunities and second-chance points, underlining their dominance on the court.

Head Coach Leonard Epps shared his thoughts following the game. "This was a great get-right game for us. Our guys played the way we want to, and we hope to keep this energy rolling into the weekend as we prepare for another conference matchup."

Looking ahead, the Barons will face Point University on December 6, 2025, in West Point, Ga. This upcoming contest will provide another opportunity for the Barons to display their skills as they prepare for the rest of their season.
