MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - In a challenging conference soccer showdown at Mount Vernon, the Brewton-Parker women's soccer team was overcome by the University of Mobile Rams with a final score of 5-0 on October 4, 2025.
The match started unfavorably for the Barons as Mobile swiftly took the lead. Natalie Burt scored the game's first goal, gaining momentum. The Rams scored again to take a 2-0 lead into halftime. Entering the second half, the Lady Barons struggled to overturn the deficit. The Barons were unable to stop the Rams' offense as they continued to score and win the game 5-0.
Head Coach Philip Borde shared his thoughts on the team's performance. "I give God thanks for the opportunity today. Mobile was the better team in the afternoon and deserved the three points. Unfortunately, we were our own demise today, thanks to the chances we gave them. We will need to regroup quickly, as we have two important matches next week, God willing. We will work this week to get some results,"
The Barons hold a record of 3-7 and 1-4 in conference and are gearing up to face Dalton State College in Dalton, Ga., on October 10, 2025, aiming to rebound from this tough defeat and improve their record.
