MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - In a thrilling regular-season opener at Mount Vernon, Ga., the Brewton-Parker Christian University Barons men's basketball team dominated the Voorhees University Tigers with a resounding 84-53 victory on October 27, 2025.
The game kicked off with Brewton-Parker establishing an early lead, led by 
Abraham Garjah, who dominated at the free-throw line, going seven of nine. The offensive momentum continued as 
Xavier Gordon-Somers added to the team's advantage, adding 10 points to the stat sheet. Highlighting the first half, 
Trent Shelton boosted the score by netting a crucial three-pointer, leaving the first half score at 43-19 in favor of the Barons.
Throughout the second half, the Barons maintained their dominance, with stellar performances from 
Trent Shelton and 
Tommy J Tisdale III, who combined for 29 points on the night. The Barons had a stellar defense, with notable efforts from 
Armani Reese, whose timely block contributed to key defensive stops. By the end of the second half, the Barons extended their lead to 37 points, finishing with a final score of 84-53. 
Tommy J Tisdale III and 
Abraham Garjah emerged as the game's top performers for the Barons, each putting up 15 points. 
Gil Gonzalez also excelled, pulling down 11 rebounds and contributing on both ends of the floor.

Leonard Epps reflected on the team's performance, highlighting the team's skill, growth, and togetherness. Focusing on how much the team's chemistry has grown since last season, with a high ceiling for the future.
Looking ahead, the Barons are set to face Warner University from Florida at Gillis Gymnasium on October 31, 2025, as they look to build off of their 1-0 record and carry momentum through the early campaign.
