Box Score MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - The Barons Men's Soccer team traveled to Tennessee for two road games, stopping to play Bethel University first. The Barons did their best but were outmatched from start to finish and suffered a tough 8-0 loss to the Bethel University.
Coach Bob Neuman shared his thoughts after the game with us. "We lacked personality, passion, and character in the first half. If we're going to grow into the team we want to be, we will need to prove our quality on a nightly basis. The guys will take the brighter pieces and positive performance in the second half into the next game."
First Half
The Barons held off the Wildcats for 17 minutes before the floodgates opened. They faced a barrage of shots in the first half and gave up six goals. The Barons did their best to compete but struggled to gain ground. Emroy McKenzie was given a yellow card in the first half. The Barons only managed one shot on net in the first half.
Second half
In the second half, the Barons rallied and put in a more substantial effort, holding the Wildcats to two more goals for the final total. The second half saw the Barons take six shots with four on net. We had three corner attempts and four fewer fouls. Despite that, Derventz Altidor was also given a yellow card in the second half.
