Barons Take Down Andrew College in 3-1 Road Victory

CUTHBERT, Ga – The Brewton-Parker Men's Soccer team picked up a 3-1 road victory over Andrew College.

Uros Andjelic, Guillem Ropero, and Enrico Strunk each found the back of the net for the Barons, who improved to 2-14-1 overall and 2-8 in conference play.

Brewton-Parker established an offensive presence early in the contest, creating several scoring opportunities throughout the opening half. The Barons broke through in the 34th minute when Andjelic found the back of the net to give BPCU a 1-0 advantage.

The Barons continued to pressure the Andrew College defense but were unable to extend their lead before halftime, carrying a one-goal advantage into the break.

BPCU maintained its offensive momentum in the second half, doubling its lead in the 56th minute when Ropero scored to make it 2-0.

Andrew College responded late in the contest as Manuel Lopez scored off an assist from Paul Coaxum in the 86th minute, cutting the Barons' advantage to 2-1.

However, Brewton-Parker quickly answered as Strunk converted a penalty kick in the 89th minute, restoring the two-goal advantage and sealing the 3-1 victory.

The Barons controlled the offensive opportunities throughout the match, outshooting Andrew College 25-13, including a 13-6 advantage in shots on goal. BPCU also held a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.

Andjelic and Biel Ibanez led the offensive attack with four shots apiece, while Ropero contributed two shots and a goal.

Defensively, goalkeeper Karolis Zukauskas recorded five saves to help secure the victory, limiting Andrew College to just one goal despite six shots on target.

With the victory, Brewton-Parker earned its second conference win of the season. The Barons will look to carry that momentum into their regular-season finale on Saturday, October 24, when they travel to face Point University.
