MOUNT VERNON, Ga. – Brewton-Parker Esports had a busy week with six teams still competing in either ECAC or NACE playoffs across four game titles.
How It Happened | Valorant
The five-man Valorant team of
Gabrielius Jakas, Jace Parks,
Sam Ellis,
Alessandro Ferri, and
Kaspar Saare punched their ticket to the ECAC finals by sweeping Farmingdale State (N.Y.) 3-0. The team took a 13-2 victory in game one and followed it up with a 13-5 game two win. BPC completed the sweep with a 13-11 victory in game three.
In round two of the NACE playoffs, the Valorant team slipped against Maryville (Mo.) 2-0. BPC fell in game one 15-13, and took a 13-7 loss in the second game to close out their NACE season.
The Valorant team will face Columbia College (Mo.) in the ECAC finals on April 16.
How It Happened | Rocket League
The Rocket League Academy team of
Rutvik Patel,
Logan Steinmeyer, and
Ethan Wright picked up a 4-3 match win over Indiana Tech to secure their spot in the divisional finals. After taking game one 4-1, Indiana Tech tied the match up with a 5-3 win in game two. BPC won game three with a 3-1 victory, but Indiana Tech took a 3-2 match lead with a 2-1 win in game four and a 3-2 win in game five. The Barons forced a game seven, with a 4-1 victory in game six and were able to secure the overall win with a 3-1 victory in game seven.
In the divisional finals, the Academy team will face Robert Morris (Penn.) on April 15.
How It Happened | Smash Bros
In Smash 3v3,
Jaime Mora,
Casey Yawn,
Alsender Miller fell to Albany (N.Y.) 3-0. In the first two games, BPC slipped 9-7 to Albany. The Barons dropped game three 9-8 to lose the match.
The Smash 3v3 team will take on Penn State – Behrend White in the third-place match of the ECAC playoffs on April 15.
How It happened| Fortnite
The BPC Fortnite trio teams competed in the ECAC finals this weekend.
The trio of
Kanan St. Rose,
Sam En, and
Will Grant took first place in the finals with 282 points securing first in the ECAC Championship.
This marks the first championship in a national competition for the Brewton-Parker Esports program.
The academy trio of
David Chanchavac,
Carson Barnett,
Maximus Pearson placed 21st in the final event with 62 points.
