MOUNT VERNON, Ga. – Brewton-Parker Esports continued their ECAC and NACE playoff campaigns this week.
How It Happened | Valorant
The five-man Valorant team of
Gabrielius Jakas, Jace Parks,
Sam Ellis,
Alessandro Ferri, and
Kaspar Saare faced Conestoga (Canada) in round two of the ECAC playoffs. The team swept the match with a 13-3 victory in game one, followed by a 13-4 win in game two.
In the opening round of the NACE playoffs, the Valorant team took down James Madison (Va.) 2-0. The Barons won game one 13-1 and secured the match with a 13-7 victory in game two.
The Valorant team will face Farmingdale State (N.Y.) in the semifinals of the ECAC playoffs on April 9 and will take on Maryville (Mo.) in the second round of the NACE playoffs on April 10.
How It Happened | Rocket League
The Rocket League premier team of
Shane Watson,
Tyler Pullen, and
Manuel Ramos took on Tiffin (Ohio) in round one of the ECAC playoffs. After taking game one 5-3, the Barons dropped game two 3-2 to even the score at 1-1. In game three, BPC took a 6-2 victory and continued the momentum, taking game four 2-0 and game five 5-3 to secure the 4-1 match victory.
In the second round of the ECAC playoffs, The Premier team faced Fisher (Mass.). BPC took game one 1-0, but dropped game two 1-0, before taking a 2-1 lead with a 1-0 win in game three. Fisher finished the match with 1-0 victories in the next three games to take a 4-2 to end BPC's ECAC playoff run.
In the opening round of the NACE playoffs, the premier team picked up a 4-0 sweep of Nichols (Mass.). The team took game one 4-1, game two 7-1, and game three 9-5, before securing the sweep with a 3-0 victory in game four.
BPC fell to Southern Mississippi 4-2 in the second round of the NACE playoffs. The team fell behind with 1-0 loses in the first two games, before taking a 1-0 win in game three making in a 2-1 match. BPC dropped game four 1-0, before winning game five 1-0 to stay alive. The Barons slipped 4-0 in game six to lose the match 4-2.
The Rocket League Academy of
Rutvik Patel,
Logan Steinmeyer, and
Ethan Wright started their NACE playoff campaign this week with a round one match against Anderson (Ind.). The Barons started off strong, taking game one 5-1, game two 2-0, and game three 5-4. Anderson took game four 3-2 and forced a game six with a 6-0 win in game five. BPC was able to hold them off and take a 5-3 win in game six to secure the 4-2 match victory.
For round two of the NACE playoffs, the Academy team will face Indiana Tech on April 8.
How It Happened | Smash Bros
In Smash 3v3,
Jaime Mora,
Casey Yawn,
Alsender Miller advanced to round three of the ECAC playoffs with a 2-0 win over Saint Francis (Pa.). The Trio took game one 9-7 and secured the match win with a 9-8 victory in game two.
In the opening round of Smash 4v4, Mora, Yawn, Miller, and
Zachary Fabris lost to Flordia Tech 2-0. The team dropped game one 4-0, before taking a 5-0 loss in game two.
The Smash 3v3 team will take on the University at Albany (N.Y.) in the semi-finals of the ECAC playoffs on April 8.
How It Happened | NBA 2K
Aaron Udell started his ECAC playoff run this week, but fell to Cumberland (Tenn.) in the opening round. Udell dropped game one 58-46 and slipped in game two 49-36 to lose the match 2-0.
