THOMASVILLE, Ga. – Brewton-Parker Softball faced Thomas (Ga.) in an SSAC doubleheader on Thursday afternoon in Thomasville, Ga.
The Lady Barons (9-7, 3-3 SSAC) split the doubleheader with the Night Hawks (8-12, 1-1 SSAC). BPC dropped game one 3-0 and took a 4-5 win in game two.
How It Happened | G1 – BPC 0, TU 3
The first three innings of the game were scoreless with BPC having a scoring chance in the second, leaving a runner on base.
Taylor Elliott was left on base after a single while following up with advancements on a sacrifice as well as a passed ball

In the fourth inning, the Night Hawks gained some momentum by scoring three runs off of three walks, a hit, and a sacrifice fly. The Lady Barons were held off for the remaining three innings, as they dropped game one 3-1.

- Brewton-Parker trailed 3-2 in hits.
- Elliott and Alyssa Usrey both picked up hits
- Natalie O'Neal (5-4) pitched three innings and picked up three strikeouts and five walks while giving up two hits and two runs.
- Maeleigh Burns pitched three innings and gave up two walks, one hit, and one run.
How It Happened | G2 – BPC 5, TU 4
The second game started off better for the Lady Barons with three runs scored in the first two innings. In the top of the first,
Alexis Bradshaw gathered a single and advanced to second off an error.
Destiny Lucas produced a single and stole second to put runners in threatening position.
Tori Wright reached first on fielder's choice, bringing Bradshaw home for the first run of the game.
BryAnn Pound reached on an error to open the second inning and stole second base shortly after before
Ashley Wilson barreled a single while advancing to second on the throw to bring Pound home for the 2-0 lead. Singles from Bradshaw and Lucas got Wilson home to give the Lady Barons a 3-0 advantage. The Night Hawks hit a home run in the bottom of the second to get one run back.
In the top of the third, Thomas tied the game back up 3-3 after a couple of hits and an error to bring home two runners. Thomas moved to a 4-3 lead in the fourth inning with a walk, and advanced the runner to third off a sacrifice bunt, bringing the runners home with a single to right field.
In the fifth inning, Brewton-Parker tied the game back up at 4-4. Wright hit a single and stole second, before Usrey grounded out, allowing Wright to make it to third. An RBI from
Hailey Gabrich brought in the tying run.
The Lady Barons retook the lead in the sixth inning, with a triple from Wilson and an RBI from Bradshaw to make it a 5-4 game in favor of BPC. In the last inning, the Lady Barons were able to hold on to the lead to win game two.
Inside the Statistics
- The Lady Barons led 11-4 in hits with Wilson leading with two hits and two runs, while Bradshaw led with three hits and one run.
- Wright also gathered two hits and a run and Pound had a hit and a run.
- Lucas produced two hits on the day and Gabrich produced one hit.
- Kira Altman (4-3) pitched 3.1 innings and picked up two strikeouts, but gave up two walks, four hits, and four runs.
- O'Neal pitched 3.2 innings with six strikeouts, giving up two walks as well.
