Barons Come Up Short Against Mariners

MOUNT VERNON Ga. - The Barons continued their regular season campaign on December 13, coming up short 54-64 against the Coastal Georgia Mariners. The Barons did everything possible but were unable to overcome the Mariners' deficit. The Barons fell behind in the first half and never managed to steal the momentum.

At halftime, the scoreboard saw Brewton-Parker down 36-44. The Barons rallied in the second half but couldn't bridge the gap effectively. Tommy J Tisdale III led the scoring for the Barons with 15 points, followed by Bobby Blackwell III, who notched 10 points, including crucial blocks towards the game's end. Ferlin Joseph Jr. and Dre Burroughs each added 7 points.

The Barons saw great performances from Bobby Blackwell III, who had several late-game blocks, giving the Barons opportunities to cut the lead and mount a comeback. Unfortunately, the efficient play of the Mainers prevented the Barons from closing the gap.

Additional notable performances for the Barons came from Kendall Norrington Jr., who grabbed five boards and scored four points, and Sam Faraday-Bensley, who recorded five points and a couple of steals. On a defensive note, Blackwell III completed the game with three blocks, leading to key stops for the Barons to try to keep them in the game.

Looking forward, the Barons are set to face Oakland City University at the Coffin Gymnasium on December 14. The Barons look to bounce back and reset their season with a win. The Barons currently sit at 4-8 and 1-2 in the conference but can get back on track with a win.
