Lady Barons Claw Out Victory Over Pensacola Christian Eagles

The Brewton-Parker Lady Barons claimed a thrilling 3-1 victory over the Pensacola Christian College Eagles on Senior Night at Gillis Gymnasium. The November 1 match showcased the Lady Barons' resilience, as they bounced back strongly after dropping the second set to secure the win in the regular season showdown.

The Lady Barons were led by outstanding performances from Kavlyn Hartmann with a commanding 22 kills, followed by Doriangelis Serrano who not only clinched 11 kills but also added an impressive 24 digs and 3 service aces to her stats. Amme Mobley contributed significantly with both 6 kills and a team-high 5 block assists, demonstrating Brewton-Parker's solid defensive capabilities.

The match began with the Lady Barons securing a 25-19 win in the first set, but the Eagles countered in the second set, taking it 25-20. Brewton-Parker then regained control, winning the next two sets with close scores of 25-21 and 27-25. The intense final set saw the Lady Barons rallying from behind, an effort underscored by a standout moment from senior Jelisa Alexander who stepped in as the backup setter after Raphaela Felisberto's injury. Alexander played a crucial role, delivering key plays that kept the momentum on the Lady Barons' side.

Coach Obed Quiles praised the team's effort, stating, "That was a great team win. I want to thank the Seniors for all they have done for this program. Now we have to refocus on our next game," highlighting the emotional and strategic victory for the team. The Lady Barons will next face Middle Georgia State University, again at Gillis Gymnasium on November 2, as they look to extend their 10-8 season record in another significant matchup.
