MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - The Lady Barons Volleyball team faced off against the Wesleyan College Wolves on Tuesday night, winning the match in three straight sets to complete another sweep. The Lady Barons took care of business quickly, winning the first two sets before the Wolves put up some fight in the third set. The Lady Barons are set to return to conference action on Wednesday.
Coach Obed Quiles shared his thoughts on the great win. "It's always great to win, and it's even better when you can see your whole team play. Now it's time to refocus and get ready for our conference opponent tomorrow,"
First Set
The Lady Barons started the match wasting no time, jumping out to an early six-nothing lead before the Wolves got on the board. The Lady Barons dominated the first set from start to finish, only giving up nine points, with five coming off Lady Barons errors. The Lady Barons had eleven kills and a .214 hitting percentage before taking the set 25-9.
Second Set
The Lady Barons kept up their winning ways, taking another big lead, making it 12-2 before the Wolves struck back. Wesleyan strung together some points to try and force their way back into the game, but the Lady Barons continued their dominance, only conceding seven points before taking the second set 25-7. The Barons had another eleven kills with only three errors this time around.
Third Set
The third set saw the Lady Barons get most of the team involved in the third set and saw the Wolves capitalize on the Lady Barons' mistakes. Brewton-Parker had 12 kills with eight errors in the night's final set and held on to win 25-22. The Lady Barons finished the game with a .198 hitting percentage and 34 kills with 16 errors.
