MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - The Lady Barons Soccer team faced off against the Dalton State Roadrunners on Saturday. While the Lady Barons held them off for the first 22 minutes of the game, the Roadrunners struck first and scored twice in the second half to win three-nil.
First Half
The Lady Barons started the match with a very solid defensive style, making sure to keep the Roadrunners and the ball in front of them. Everything was going well until a great through ball was sent into the back of the net in the 22nd minute, allowing the Roadrunners to get the eventual game-winner. The Lady Barons managed to lock it down defensively for the rest of the half but could not get anything going offensively.
Second Half
The Lady Barons kept the Roadrunners off the board for nine and a half minutes in the second half before Ria Cox drilled the team's second goal past Angel Camacho. The Lady Barons did their best to make some offense happen, but the Dalton State defense was too strong and prevented any chances the Lady Barons made.
