MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - The Lady Barons Soccer team faced off against the Middle Georgia State University Knights last night. Despite keeping it close for the first 20 minutes of play, the Knights eventually scored their first and never stopped, scoring four in the first half and four in the second half to win eight-nil.

First Half

The Lady Barons started the match with several chances before the Knights took control of the game, forcing the Lady Barons back on defense. Marielys Rosales attempted to use her speed to create scoring chances, but the Knights defenders or keeper were there with the answer each time. The Knights scored in the 22nd minute and again six minutes later to take a two-goal lead. In the 30th minute, Aora Pena scored twice just 21 seconds apart to make the lead four. 

Second Half

The Lady Barons could not contain the Knights, who scored an early goal due to the Lady Barons' poor communication. However, the Lady Barons did manage to hold them and create some scoring chances until the 71st minute, when Aroa Pena completed the hat-trick. The Knights went on to score two more goals to finish this half, like the first, with four.
