MOUNT VERNON, Ga. – It proved to be a tough day for Brewton-Parker Women's Soccer on Saturday afternoon as top-ranked William Carey (Miss.) visited Mount Vernon to continue Southern States Athletic Conference action.
The Lady Barons (0-6-1, 0-4-0 SSAC) were outmatched in every facet of the game against the highly touted Crusaders (12-0-0, 6-0-0) in a 12-0 defeat at home.
How It Happened | First Half
It was all William Carey early as the Crusaders broke free within the first minute of play, netting a goal with just forty seconds off the clock before following up with another in the sixth minute to go up by two.
The visitors then began to rattle off shot after shot, pressuring Brewton-Parker heavily. WCU found a third goal in the 12th minute before following up with two more inside the 14th minute to go up 5-0.
William Carey went on to knock in five more goals before the break (18:47, 20:45, 23:19, 24:37, and 39:36), holding a 10-0 lead at the half. WCU led 28-0 in overall shots.
How It Happened | Second Half
William Carey found two more goals in the second half with the first falling in the 52nd minute while netting their 12th goal of the match at the 79:31 mark before sealing the game shut with the dominant edge over BPC.
