Women’s Volleyball Struggles in New Orleans on Friday Night

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Brewton-Parker Women's Volleyball traveled to New Orleans, La. for a Southern States Athletic Conference match-up on Friday night against (RV) Loyola (La.).

The Lady Barons (3-8, 0-5 SSAC) were swiftly dealt with by the Wolf Pack (14-4, 5-1 SSAC) on Friday in a quick 3-0 loss.

"Tough one tonight," Head Coach Obed Quiles mentioned. "Our team was focused on the wrong things. We did not have the right mentality to perform tonight, and we need to be better if we want to compete in the conference."

How It Happened

It was all Loyola early as the Wolf Pack swept the rug from under Brewton-Parker in the opening set with a 25-4 victory in the first frame. Three of the four points for BPC came by way of service errors from the hosts while Amme Mobley found a kill in the process.

The Lady Barons opened the second set with an ace from Jelisa Alexander and a kill from Kinsley Jordan for the early lead, but Loyola flipped things around quickly to finish the set 25-7.

Brewton-Parker put together their best set of the evening in the third frame, notching a .107 hitting percentage with eight kills but that was not enough as the Wolf Pack captured the sweep with a 25-16 win in the final set.
