Women’s Basketball Soars Past Running Eagles in 74-67 Senior Day Win

MOUNT VERNON, Ga. – It was a day full of fanfare and celebration as the women's basketball program hosted Life (Ga.) for Senior Day to wrap up the final home contest in Gillis Gymnasium for the 2022-23 campaign.

The Lady Barons (20-5, 12-4 SSAC) gathered their 11th-consecutive win on Saturday by soaring past the Running Eagles (13-13, 5-11 SSAC) in a 74-67 victory. Prior to tip-off, the women's basketball program honored several senior student-athletes for their hard work and dedication to the Lady Barons' program. Those recognized were Cisley Copper, Nakayia Green, Chardell Jones, Keaynna Tolbert, and Sy-Marieona Williams.

"We had a long break away from play this week and we knew today was going to be a battle," Head Coach Steve Edwards said. "We found a way to make some big plays late in the game and we are finding ways to win despite not having our A-game."
