WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – Brewton-Parker women's wrestling wrapped up the regular season Mid-South Conference slate of duals with a contest at No. 5 Cumberlands (Ky.) on Friday night.
The Lady Barons (16-9) dropped the dual to the Patriots (12-10) in a tough 32-13 loss.
Cumberlands opened with a 14-point advantage taking two pins over
Elora Waterman (101) and
Nicole Chandler (116) while also notching a 10-0 tech fall over
Gabriela Galvez (109). Brewton-Parker answered with 13-straight points as
Jamesa Robinson (123) sparked the run with a fall (0:51) over Dylan Hernandez.
Madisyn Blackburn (130) followed with a pin of her own (2:59) over Zoey Smith to give BPC 10 team points before
Leidaly Rivera (136) pieced together an 8-6 decision over Aliyah Yates to pull the Lady Barons within a one-point deficit.
Unfortunately for BPC, the Patriots went on to sweep the remaining duals with two pins over
Migdalys Ramos (143) and
Savannah Pitts (191) while also gathering tech falls over
Taniyah Ford (155) and
Katelyn Lewis (170).
