MOUNT VERNON, Ga. – The Brewton-Parker Men's Wrestling program hosted No. 2-Ranked Life (Ga.) for the regular-season finale in Gillis Gymnasium.
The Barons (3-15, 1-7 AAC) fell to the Running Eagles (9-2, 6-0 AAC) in a 42-0 loss at home.
After opening up with a double forfeit in the 125lb match, Life started with a 6-0 advantage with a pin (2:10) over Tyree Henry (133) The visitors followed up with a 17-0 tech fall over Keyshaun Taylor (141) to move to an 11-0 lead before Kullum Irvin (149) fought hard in an 8-2 decision loss to move the Barons' deficit to 14.
Bradley Owens (157) fell in a 16-0 tech fall before Benjamin Tarrago (165) was knocked in a 13-0 major decision to give live a 23-0 advantage. After a pin (3:45) over Dominic Martinez (174), the Running Eagles picked up another tech fall in the match against Charlie Henkel (184) to lead by a commanding 34 points.
In the final two matches of the dual, Life beat out Austin Miller (197) in a 17-1 tech fall before picking up a final 3-0 decision over Wilkinson Saul (285) to secure the 42-0 victory over the Barons.
