LAKELAND, Fla. – Brewton-Parker College Men's Wrestling traveled to Lakeland, Fla. to take on No. 4-ranked Southeastern (Fla.) in an Appalachian Athletic Conference matchup on Wednesday night.
The (RV) Barons (2-4, 1-2 AAC) fell to the Fire (4-1, 2-1 AAC) in a 45-3 defeat.
BPC started the dual at the 125-pound weight class with
Patrick Jones taking on No. 11-ranked Esau Bazilme. Jones fell in a 10-7 sudden victory loss which gave the Fire a 3-0 lead. After an 18-1 tech fall loss for
Keyshaun Taylor to No. 5-ranked Andrew Voiles at 133, the Barons forfeited the 141 bout to fall to 14-0.
At 149,
Gavin Daniels was downed in a 21-6 tech fall to No. 4-ranked Parker Dobrocky and was followed by a 13-4 major decision loss from
Bradley Owens to No. 3-ranked Salvador Silva, dropping the Barons to a 23-0 deficit.
Sean Houston gathered the only team points for Brewton-Parker with a 3-1 decision against Tehran Piza in the 165-pound match as the Barons managed to drop the last four matches.
Jesus Grijalva fell in a 21-6 tech fall to Frank Solorzano in the 174-pound weight class. At 184,
Charlie Henkel was downed in a 17-1 tech fall from Noah Gallardo and was followed by a loss from
Thomas Crawford by a pin (2:52) to No. 17-ranked Gentry Smith.
Wilkinson Saul closed out the dual in the 285-pound weight class, dropping to a fall (1:39 to No. 3-ranked Gabe Jacobs) to end the dual 45-3.
