Lady Barons Skid in Non-Conference Action Against USC Beaufort

BLUFFTON, S.C. – Brewton-Parker Women's Soccer traveled to Bluffton, South Carolina for non-conference action against South Carolina Beaufort on Monday afternoon.

The Lady Barons (1-11-1) were downed by the Sand Sharks (10-4-1) in a 5-1 defeat on the road.

How It Happened | First Half

USCB gained control early, scoring in the fifth minute to take a 1-0 lead over BPC. A shot from Beata Chako in the 12th minute nearly leveled the match, but the Sand Sharks' keeper managed to save the attempt.

After 11 total shots, South Carolina Beaufort found the net once more in the 26th minute for a two-score advantage. Chako landed another shot on target just moments later but was denied yet again followed by a missed shot from McKenzie Tucker in the 27th minute. Katelyn Ladner gave Brewton-Parker its final shot of the half at the 38:18 mark but was saved by USCB's goalie.

The Lady Barons were outshot 21-4 in the first 45 minutes of action with all four shots on frame.

How It Happened | Second Half

The Sand Sharks swiftly continued their dominance in the second half, scoring in the 49th minute to take a 3-0 lead over Brewton-Parker. After rattling off five shots toward Naphtaline Clermeus, the hosts found another goal in the 60th minute for a four-goal edge.

Brewton-Parker eventually found themselves on the scoresheet with Chako taking control from the penalty spot, converting her chance for the Lady Barons' lone goal of the afternoon.

USCB found the net for one more time in the 82nd minute, scoring the fifth and final goal of the match to close out with a 5-1 deficit over Brewton-Parker.
