Lady Barons Fall Short in Match Against Running Eagles

MOUNT VERNON, Ga. – Brewton-Parker Women's Volleyball continued SSAC play against Life (Ga.) on Saturday afternoon in Gillis Gymnasium.

The Lady Barons (4-15, 1-11 SSAC) slipped in three sets to the Running Eagles (13-8, 8-2 SSAC).

How It Happened

The Lady Barons held the first set close. After dropping to a four-point deficit, BPC gathered five points to tie the game at nine. From there, the two teams were in a close battle, before the Running Eagles got some momentum and took a six-point run to go up 21-15. The Lady Barons gathered four more points to finish the first set 25-19 in favor of Life.

BPC struggled to slow down the Running Eagles in the second set, quickly going down 12-5. The Lady Barons came together and went on a few runs to tie the game back up at 16. Unfortunately, BPC was not able to keep the momentum going and were only able to gain two more points ultimately losing the second set 25-18.

In set three, the Lady Barons produced an early 4-3 lead. The lead was short-lived as the Running Eagles took four straight points to gain a three-point lead of their own.
