FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – Brewton-Parker men's wrestling returned to action on Wednesday evening with a road contest at NCAA DII opponent Emmanuel (Ga.) in Franklin Springs, Georgia.
The Barons (3-8) fell to the Lions (3-2) in a 37-6 defeat.
Emmanuel opened with a 7-3 decision in the 125-lb match as Gavin Hayes took down Zachary McFarland. Brewton-Parker answered with three points of their own in the 133-lb match with Domnik Medina defeating Eli Holton in a 6-2 decision.
With a level 3-3 score, the Lions utilized Joshua Kincaid's pin (2:56) over Bryant Santiago in the 141-lb match to claim a 9-3 lead. At 149, Bradley Owens produced a 7-2 decision over Clayton Frost to give the Barons three more team points.
Emmanuel followed up with back-to-back pins in the 157 and 165 matches as Kullum Irvin and Carlos Cruz picked up losses, respectively. During the 174-lb match, Grady Tisdale notched a 13-3 major decision over Dominic Martinez to give EC a commanding 25-6 lead with three matches to go.
Charlie Henkel fell to an 11-8 decision during the 184-lb match before Ethan Larsen fell in a 7-2 decision at 197. In the final match of the dual, Blaine Miller was defeated by pin to give the Lions their final six team points and the 37-6 victory.
Brewton-Parker remains on the road for the rest of the week with a contest tri-dual at St. Thomas (Fla.) on Friday.
