Men’s Soccer Slips in Thomasville; Night Hawks Down Barons in 3-0 Loss

THOMASVILLE, Ga. – Brewton-Parker Men's Soccer traveled to Thomasville to take on Thomas (Ga.) on Friday afternoon.

The Barons (0-2-1) fell to the Night Hawks (2-1-1) in a tough 3-0 loss on the road.

Head Coach Bob Neumann shared his thoughts after the match. "They (Thomas) were resolute today, they did well plugging gaps and keeping us from generating constant pressure," Neumann said. "However, off the back of the performance against SCAD, I was happy to see our response."

"The boys ran themselves into the ground today through sweltering conditions," Neumann added. "The energy was right, hopefully, next week the results will follow."

How It Happened | First Half

  • Thomas managed to net the match's first goal in the 36th minute. The Night Hawks led the first 45 minutes with 13 total shots while the Barons could only produce five shots.
  • Charles Williams notched his first start of the season and recorded three saves in the first half.

How It Happened | Second Half

  • The Night Hawks continued to apply a heavy offensive threat to Brewton-Parker, outshooting the Barons 18-0 in the second half.
  • Thomas bagged two quick goals in the 69th and 71st minute to secure a three-goal lead in the match.
  • Williams fought hard to protect the BPC goal line, recording 10 saves in the second half.

  • TU notched 31 total shots with 16 on frame while BPC recorded just five shots and one on goal.
  • Williams recorded a 13-save match in 90 minutes of action.
  • Elijah Trujillo led the Barons with two shots and the lone shot on goal. Jacob Shield, Derventz Altidor, and Sven De Heij all recorded a shot each.
