Barons Dropped by Mobile on Monday Night

MOBILE, Ala. – Brewton-Parker Men's Basketball traveled to Mobile, Ala. in a rescheduled game from earlier this season.

The Barons (2-23, 1-12 SSAC) were dropped by the Rams (12-15, 6-9 SSAC), 80-57 on Monday night.

How It Happened

Mobile opened the game with eight unanswered points before the Barons found a three-pointer with 15:53 left in the first half. The Rams began slowly building momentum into a double-digit lead with six and a half minutes left to play.

Towards the end of the half, Brewton-Parker began chipping away at the deficit, pulling it down to just two points with under two minutes left. After a three from the Rams, BPC answered with a closing jumper to go just three behind Mobile at 33-30.

In the second half, it took less than three minutes for Mobile to pull away to a double-digit lead. Brewton-Parker managed to pull the deficit down to as close as six points with 15 minutes remaining but that was the best the Barons had for the night.

Mobile quickly returned to double-digits and did not look back for the remainder of the half. The Rams outscored the Barons 47-27 in the final 20 minutes of play and closed out the game with an 80-57 lead.

Inside The Statistics

  • Aaron Udell led the way with 20 points on the night.
  • The Barons shot for 36.9% (24-of-65) from the floor, 31.8% 7-of-22) from three, and 40% (2-of-5) from the charity stripe.
  • Both teams were equal in rebounds, 35-35.

Other Notables

  • Mobile recorded 12 turnovers while the Barons recorded 16. The Rams led in steals, 9-3 as well.
