(RV) Eagles Too Much for Lady Barons in 78-61 Defeat on Thursday Night

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Lady Barons basketball returned to conference play on Thursday with a faceoff against (RV) Faulkner in Montgomery, Alabama.

Brewton-Parker (8-3, 1-2 SSAC) dropped a tough contest against the Eagles (9-1, 2-0 SSAC) in a 78-61 defeat on the road.

"We were outclassed tonight," Head Coach Steve Edwards said. "Faulkner hit us hard, and we did not respond well. They were tougher and wanted it more than we did tonight."

"We pride ourselves on being tough, but tonight we found out that were not," Edwards mentioned. "I will do a better job of having us ready to go in tough games like tonight. We will learn and we will get better."

  • The Lady Barons opened with a free throw from Madison Evans and a three-pointer from Tajahnae Wiggins to lead early.
  • Evans found four more points while the Eagles went on an 18-6 run to wrap up the opening period with a 20-10 lead.

  • BPC managed to go on an 11-0 run in the middle of the quarter to level the score, 28-28 with 4:03 left to play.
