Lady Barons Defeat Talladega on Thursday Night

MOUNT VERNON, Ga. – Brewton-Parker women's soccer hosted Talladega (Ala.) on Thursday night to continue Southern States Athletic Conference play.

The Lady Barons (4-8-1, 1-3-1 SSAC) slipped past the Tornadoes (0-5, 0-3 SSAC) in a 1-0 victory for the first conference win of the season.

How It Happened | First Half

  • Thursday's match was delayed by over an hour due to travel issues with the visitors, forcing the kick-off to past 6 p.m. ET.
  • Brewton-Parker's attack quickly jumped out of the gate with six shots in the first 20 minutes.
  • The Lady Barons found the back of the net in the 21st minute as Ashley Venegas managed to slot the ball past the Talladega keeper with Beata Chako on the assist.
  • BPC applied pressure in the first 45 minutes of play with 16 shots overall but recorded just eight on frame.
