Men's Soccer Drops Opener 2-1 Against Thomas

MOUNT VERNON, Ga. – The Brewton-Parker men's soccer program dropped its season opener 2-1 to Thomas (Ga.) on Saturday afternoon.

The Barons were ultimately unable to hold off the Night Hawks attack despite the scoring effort late into the match.  

How It Happened

  • Thomas scored early in the first half, taking a 1-0 lead just seven minutes into the match.
  • Brewton-Parker tied the match in the 79th minute with a solo effort from newcomer Kevin Neubauer.
  • The Night Hawks took the lead in the 81st minute, scoring the eventual game-winning goal just two minutes removed from the Baron's score.

Standout Statistics

  • Jamair Stewart tallied 10 saves in the match, playing the full 90 minutes.
  • Thomas out-shot the Barons 19-7 with 12 being on frame.

  • Neubauer records his first career goal for the Barons.
