Box Score OXFORD, Ala. -- The Brewton-Parker men's soccer program continued SSAC play on Saturday afternoon with a 2-1 win over Talladega (Ala.).
The Barons (3-7-1, 2-0 SSAC) defeated the Tornadoes (2-6-2, 0-2 SSAC) with a pair of second-half goals to remain unbeaten in conference play.
Head Coach Bob Neumann spoke briefly about the team's start in SSAC action. "Its really a dream start for us," Neumann said. "To be 2-0 to start SSAC play provides momentum to get us headed in the right direction."
"The credit must go to the student-athletes," Neumann added. "We were not at our best, but we found a way to grind out a result against a gritty Talladega side. We are looking forward to returning home and to host some of the big fish next week."
How It Happened
- The first half would end in a 0-0 stalemate. Neither side could produce a score as Brewton-Parker gathered eight total shots and four on goal while Talladega was held to just one shot.
- In the second half, the Barons broke the draw in the 48th with a goal from Rooseveltdo Pierre to give the 1-0 lead over the Tornadoes. Pierre was able to find the back of the net with the help of Pablo Grajales.
- Talladega responded quickly with a score in the 51st minute to even the match 1-1.
- Brewton-Parker tallied several shots over the course of the next few minutes and managed to take a 2-1 lead in the 69th minute. Landon Brafford gave the Barons a score with the assistance of Samuel Figueiro.
- For the remainder of the match, both sides were unable to find the back of the net. Brewton-Parker recorded 10 total shots to close out the match while Talladega could only muster three attempts in the final minutes.

- The Brewton-Parker attack produced a multitude of chances on Saturday as they outshot Talladega 22-5 in the match. The Barons tallied 11 shots on frame while only allowing four from the Tornadoes.
- A total of five BPC student-athletes recorded three total shots with four of them notching two shots on frame.
- Pierre bagged his third goal of the season on Saturday afternoon as Brafford netted his second on the season.
- Figueiro tallied his third assist of the season with Grajales recording his first for the 2021-22 campaign.
