Leonard Epps has led the Brewton-Parker men’s basketball program since 2022 and has helped the Barons make big strides during his time in Mount Vernon.
The 2025-26 season was one of the program’s best in recent history, as Epps led BPCU to a 20-10 record, the program’s first 20-win season in more than 20 years, and 12 conference wins, the most in school history. The Barons also reached the conference semifinals for the first time in more than 20 years, while Epps picked up his 100th career win and was named the HoopDirt NAIA National Coach of the Week.
Before coming to Brewton-Parker, Epps served as a head coach at Toccoa Falls College, Champion Christian College and Yellowstone Christian College. He also spent time as an assistant coach at Nelson University and York College. Throughout his career, he has helped lead teams to conference championships, national tournament appearances and several school records.
Epps earned his bachelor’s degree in Health Science from Eastern Kentucky University and later earned his master’s degree in Education from Nelson University.
Off the court, Epps and his wife, Rabea, have two children, Malia and Jayden.
