Daniel Smith is a sports media professional, former collegiate track and field athlete, and creative based in Georgia. He currently serves as the Assistant Sports Information Director at Brewton-Parker Christian University, where he combines his passion for athletics and storytelling through photography, videography, graphic design, digital media, athletic communications, and game-day operations.
Before moving into sports media, Daniel competed for four years as a collegiate thrower. Throughout his career, he established himself as a competitive force in the Southern States Athletic Conference, earning two Top 5 finishes at the SSAC Indoor Championships in the weight throw and three Top 8 finishes at the SSAC Outdoor Championships in the hammer throw. He was also named SSAC Thrower of the Week and earned SSAC All-Academic Team honors four times, demonstrating his commitment to excellence both in competition and in the classroom.
Daniel concluded his collegiate throwing career by making history, breaking the school's hammer throw record with a mark of 46.74 meters. His experience as a student-athlete continues to influence the way he approaches his work today, giving him a unique understanding of the dedication, preparation, and stories behind athletic competition.
Beyond collegiate athletics, Daniel is continuing to build his presence in photography and videography, focusing on capturing meaningful moments, powerful visuals, and authentic stories. Whether he is behind the camera, creating digital content, managing athletic communications, or working behind the scenes on game day, Daniel is driven by creativity, professionalism, and a lifelong passion for sports.
