Brewton-Parker Christian University

Obed Quiles is entering his fourth year as head volleyball coach at Brewton-Parker Christian University and his 11th season as a collegiate head coach.

A native of Naranjito, Puerto Rico, Quiles attended the University of Pikeville, where he played collegiate baseball while also working with the volleyball program as a student assistant. Following college, he played professional baseball with the Evansville Otters before returning to Pikeville as a graduate assistant in 2013 and assistant coach in 2014.

Quiles began his head coaching career at the University of Pikeville in 2015, leading the program through the 2022 season. He took over the Brewton-Parker program in 2023 and guided the Barons to a winning record in 2024, the program’s first since 2010.

Quiles holds a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and a master’s degree in Sports Management.
