During the 2025-26 season, Hawkins coached Hollis Morton to an NAIA Indoor National Championship in the high jump with a mark of 2.10 meters. He also coached Kiara Green, who became the first female All-American in Brewton-Parker history after earning NAIA Indoor All-American honors in the 60-meter dash.

Hawkins also coached Kayia Bryant to SSAC indoor and outdoor triple jump championships, Morton to an SSAC outdoor high jump title and Ja’Delle Major to an SSAC outdoor javelin championship. Morton, Bryant and Major also earned NAIA Outdoor All-American honors, while Bryant was named Freshman of the Year for both the indoor and outdoor seasons.

During the 2024-25 season, Hawkins coached Morton to the SSAC Outdoor High Jump Championship. He also coached Travis Massey to NAIA All-American honors in the indoor 60-meter dash and outdoor 100-meter dash, along with the men’s 4x100 relay team that earned NAIA Outdoor All-American honors.

Before Brewton-Parker, Hawkins spent 10 years at West Georgia, beginning as a graduate assistant in 2014 before becoming an assistant coach in 2015. He mainly worked with sprinters, hurdlers and jumpers and helped the program win the 2016 Gulf South Conference Championship.

Before West Georgia, Hawkins spent seven seasons at Cedar Grove High School in Ellenwood, Georgia, where he helped the program win three state championships and multiple region titles.

Hawkins competed collegiately at Fort Valley State University from 2000-04, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Management. He later earned his master’s degree in Special Education from the University of West Georgia. He also holds coaching certifications through USATF and USTFCCCA in jumps, sprints, hurdles and relays.
