Mount Vernon, GA — Brewton-Parker Women's Soccer put together its biggest offensive performance of the young season Saturday afternoon, cruising past Toccoa Falls College, 9-1, at home. BPCU led 4-0 at halftime before adding five more goals in the second half.
Gabriela Munoz got the Lady Barons rolling early and completed a first-half hat trick, scoring in the seventh, 15th and 17th minutes. Lena Szydlo added another goal to send Brewton-Parker into the break with a commanding four-goal advantage.
The offense continued to roll after halftime. Daria Cwynar scored less than two minutes into the second half before Honey Murphy added another in the 48th minute. Cwynar struck twice more in the 64th and 65th minutes to complete a hat trick of her own. Murphy later converted a penalty kick in the 87th minute for her second goal of the afternoon.
Brewton-Parker dominated the attacking numbers, outshooting Toccoa Falls 30-3 and putting 20 attempts on goal. Cwynar led the Lady Barons with 11 shots, eight on goal and three goals, while Munoz scored three times on five attempts. Laura Marin added six shots, including five on goal.
Goalkeeper Angel Camacho played all 90 minutes and recorded one save as the BPCU defense limited Toccoa Falls to just two shots on goal.
After getting back into the win column in dominant fashion, the Lady Barons will hit the road for their next match, traveling to Hattiesburg, Mississippi, to face William Carey University on Thursday, Sept. 10.
