Savannah, GA— The Lady Barons returned to the court Friday evening for a rematch with Savannah State University, falling to the Tigers in four sets.
The Lady Barons dropped the opening set 25-21 before responding in a tight second set. BPCU edged Savannah State 28-26 to even the match at one set apiece. The Tigers regained control in the third, taking the set 25-17, before closing out the match with a 25-21 victory in the fourth.
Brewton-Parker finished the night with 37 kills, 36 assists, six service aces, seven blocks and 62 digs. The Lady Barons held a 62-60 advantage in digs, while Savannah State finished with 39 kills, nine aces and 16 blocks.
Patrycja Kabala led the BPCU attack with 11 kills while adding three aces and 13 digs. Nicolly Chaves followed with eight kills and six digs, while Amme Mobley added four kills. Taylor Lamontagne directed the offense with 27 assists to go along with two aces and seven digs.
Defensively, Alana Garcia led the Lady Barons with 14 digs, while Kabala added 13. Ryann Prince was a force at the net, finishing with three solo blocks and three block assists.
The loss moves Brewton-Parker to 8-3 overall on the season. The Lady Barons will return home Friday to host Life University in their first Southern States Athletic Conference match of the season.
