MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - The Brewton-Parker Christian University (BPCU) Barons flag football team traveled to Waleska, Ga., to take on the Eagles of Reinhardt University on April 2, 2026. The Barons rallied in the final minute to stun the Eagles at the buzzer and win the game 13-12.

The Eagles opened the scoring in the second quarter to take an early 6-0 lead after a failed point-after attempt, but the lead wouldn't last long as the Barons would answer 13 seconds later when Keyshauna Gusby broke free for a 66-yard touchdown rush to tie the game. The team would take a tie into halftime.Â
The Eagles would respond in the third quarter, scoring on a nine-play drive with 4:36 remaining in the third quarter to take a 12-6 lead. The Barons spent the entire rest of the game chasing the six-point deficit. After giving up the go-ahead touchdown, the Barons would engineer a 10-play 74-yard drive to tie the game in the final seconds and convert the point after try to take the game 13-12.Â
The Barons will have a quick turnaround before they play the Running Eagles of Life University in Marietta, Ga., on April 3, 2026.Â
