MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - The Brewton-Parker Christian University Barons softball team faced off against the Wesleyan College Wolves in a doubleheader on February 11, 2026. The Barons dominated both games, sweeping the Wolves, taking game one 6-0 and game two 14-4 in five innings.
Game one started strong for the Barons as their ace Kaylee Odum carved through the Wolves' lineup, throwing 6.0 complete shutout innings, giving up only five hits and striking out 11 batters. Maelieigh Burns came in to finish the game in the seventh, but there was nothing the Wolves could do at that point. Offensively, the Barons saw Anna Green go 3-4 with three RBI on two doubles alongside Hailey Gabrich, who drove in two runs on two hits on the day. Odum once again added some run support, hitting an RBI double in the fourth inning.
Game two saw the Barons keep cruising offensively, led by Alyssa Usrey, who went 3-3 in the game and drove in six RBI on two doubles and a triple. The Barons also got contributions from Destiny Lucas, who went 2-3 with an RBI and two stolen bases, and Madisyn Hallar, who went 2-3 with two RBI and two stolen bases. In the circle, Samantha Mathews struggled, going 2.1, giving up three earned runs, before the Barons turned to Natalie O'Neil, who threw 1.2 in relief before they turned the ball over to Emma Warnock, who finished the game in the fifth inning, throwing 1.0 complete, giving up one earned run.
Head Coach Madison Herrin commented on the performance, saying. "Great to win on the road for our team. We had a slow start offensively in game one, but our pitching was very good. In game two, we were able to pick things up offensively. The team played well defensively in both games. All in all, it was a good day. I am very proud of our girls making the adjustments needed. Now we are looking forward to the weekend in Columbia, S.C."
The Barons will look to keep their undefeated streak alive as they prepare for the Coca-Cola Classic in Columbia, S.C., hosted by Columbia International University. The Barons will play four games over February 13-14, 2026. Taking on Ohio Christian University and Alice Lloyd College (Ky.) on day one and Kentucky Christian University and Columbia International University on day two.
