Barons Split Day 2 vs Eagles

MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - The Barons split a doubleheader against the Eagles, dropping game one 14-2. The Barons rallied in game two and pulled off a thrilling 12-10 victory over the Faulkner University Eagles on March 22 at their home field in Mount Vernon, Georgia. This hard-fought win bumps the Barons' season record to 11-18.

The game saw several Barons stepping up to the plate and delivering crucial performances. Carson Kirby and Orlando Perez led the charge, both earning multiple runs, with Kirby also driving in three RBIs. Jeremi Lara was a standout, hitting a homer, scoring twice, and driving in a run. Marquette Gibson contributed significantly, hitting two doubles and driving in a run. The team rallied and overcame a 9-6 deficit in the seventh inning, scoring five to take the lead.

Dylan Speakman started the game pitching for Brewton-Parker, setting the stage for the Barons' solid defensive efforts. Speakman threw four innings and was relieved by Demoi Hodges, who threw 1.1 innings before Shaun Carlos Munoz entered the game. Munoz earned the win before Carlos Rodriguez entered in to earn the save in the ninth striking out two.

Looking ahead, the Barons are preparing to face Thomas University on March 28 in Thomasville, Georgia. The team hopes to carry over their momentum from the win into the rest of the season.
