Barons Drop Series to Crusaders

MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - The Barons hosted the Crusaders of William Carey in a doubleheader and dropped both games. The Barons were defeated in game one with a final score of 11-7 and 33-6 in game two on March 15, 2025.

Game one saw considerable contributions from several Barons' players. Jack Morris and Kennard Dawson were standouts in the lineup; Morris knocked out two hits and secured two RBIs, while Dawson added a double and an RBI. Carson Kirby, Jeremi Rahn, Fred Diaz, Zack Carlton, and Kendell Wade also scored runs for Brewton-Parker. Notably, Alex Muns took the mound as the starting pitcher for the Barons in this tough match-up.

In game two, the Barons' pitching staff struggled to keep the Crusaders' offense off the board. Giving up ten runs in the first was just the tipping point, and things went downhill from there. The Crusaders scored in every inning except the fourth.

The Barons scored six runs, with four coming off of solo shots from Caleb Strott, Kennard Dawson, Jeremi Lara, and J. Reid Phillips. The Barons look to put the series behind them and focus on the remainder of their schedule. The Barons drop to 9-15 and 4-11 in conference. The Barons travel to Reinhardt on March 18, hoping to get back on track.
