MOUNT VERNON, Ga - The Lady Barons went on the road to face the Faulkner Eagles on February 1, 2025 and battled to come away with a win and a final score of 87-76. Held at the Tine Davis Gymnasium, this win places the Lady Barons' season record at 11-10 and 7-3 in the conference.

The game started off with high intensity, with the end of the first quarter score being 23-21 in favor of Faulkner. The Lady Barons buckled down in the second quarter and shut the Eagles down to take the lead into the halftime break. Building on their lead, the Lady Barons significantly extended their advantage in the third quarter, leading by as much as 13 points. Jasmine Leynard led the scoring with 18 points, followed closely by Chasity Degale and Destanee Wright, who contributed 15 and 13 points respectively.

Destanee Wright also made substantial contributions across the board with a rebound and two steals, showing off her skills on both ends of the floor. Angel McRae pulled down eight boards and had three steals, further highlighting the team's solid defensive performance. In addition, Chasity Degale added a block and two steals to her 15 points.

Coach Steve Edwards expressed his satisfaction with the team's performance post-game, stating, "It's so tough to win in our league on the road. We battled and found a way to win against a dangerous Faulkner team. Our group is improving, and I like where we are right now."
