MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - In a challenging conference game on October 4, 2025, the Brewton-Parker Christian University Barons women's volleyball team faced a tough opponent in the Point University Skyhawks at West Point, GA. The Skyhawks emerged victorious with a 3-0 win.
The first set saw the Barons put up a spirited fight, ending the set with a close score of 25-20 in favor of the Skyhawks. The next set proved more challenging for the Barons, with the Skyhawks dominating and ending with a 25-12 score. In the third set, the Barons attempted a comeback, competing closely until the Skyhawks secured another 25-20 win to close the match.
Notable contributions came from
Raphaela Felisberto and Adriana DeJesus, each with eight kills, and
Ryann Prince, who added five. In terms of defensive actions,
Taylor Lamontagne led with seven digs.
Raphaela Felisberto led the Barons with 20 assists. Despite strong individual performances and a notable ace by
Alana Garcia, the Barons were hindered by multiple service and attack errors.
Head Coach
Obed Quiles shared his disappointment in the team's performance, "We are not playing at the level we need to be at this point in the season. We have more talent than what is being reflected on the court right now," Quiles shared his frustration with his team's struggles to show their skill during the game.
Looking forward, the Barons will aim to strengthen their gameplay as they prepare to host Life University on October 11, 2025, at Gillis Gymnasium, to improve their current season record of 2-13 and 0-8 in conference play.
