Lady Barons Dominate Tri-Match

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - The Lady Barons Volleyball team started their season with a smashing success at the Toccoa Falls College Tri-Match. The Lady Barons faced off against Toccoa Falls College and Trinity Baptist College to start the 2024 campaign. The Lady Barons wasted no time in jumping on both teams, winning their first three sets against Toccoa Falls College, 25-13, 25-17, and 25-17, to grab their first win of the year in their very first match. The Lady Barons continued their domination, sweeping the Trinity Baptist College Eagles 25-8, 25-10, 25-15. The last time the Lady Barons Volleyball team started the season with two sweeps was in 2012.

Coach Obed Quiles shared his thoughts on the team's performance after the games: "It's always exciting to see your team in action, not just practice or preseason scrimmages. I was happy to see how we played today and was pleased with our performance. But it's still important for us to stay focused in practice this week and not let these wins go to our heads since we want this to be just the beginning of what we are capable of this season. We want to get better each week, and I believe this team can play even better than we did today, and we're going to do everything possible in practice to make that happen."

First Game

The Lady Barons started their season with great performances on defense to lead them to their first sweep and victory of the year over Toccoa Falls. The Lady Barons wasted no time showing off their serving ability and cruising to victory off their stellar defense and serving. They then carried that energy over to their next game against Trinity Baptist College.

Second Game
The Lady Barons dominated the first set, only giving up 8 points to the Eagles before rolling to victory. They showed great team play and talent as they dominated all three sets from start to finish. The Lady Barons rolled to victory in three straight sets, not once but twice, and hope to carry that into the rest of their season.

Next Up
