Esports Weekly Recap (Mar. 25 – Mar. 31)

MOUNT VERNON, Ga. – Brewton-Parker Esports started their ECAC playoff campaigns with three game titles this week.  

How It Happened | Valorant

The five-man Valorant team of Gabrielius Jakas, Jace Parks, Sam Ellis, Alessandro Ferri, and Kaspar Saare took on South Florida in the first round of the ECAC playoffs. The team took game one 13-4, and followed it up with a 13-10 victory in game two for the 2-0 series sweep.

The Valorant team will face Conestoga (Canada) in round two of the ECAC playoffs on April 2 and will take on James Madison (Va.) in the first round of the NACE playoffs on April 3.

How It Happened | Rocket League

The Rocket League premier team of Shane Watson, Tyler Pullen, and Manuel Ramos took on Tiffin (Ohio) in round one of the ECAC playoffs. After taking game one 5-3, the Barons dropped game two 3-2 to even the score 1-1. In game three, BPC took a 6-2 victory and continued the momentum, taking game four 2-0 and game three 5-3 to secure the 4-1 match victory.

BPC's premier team will face Fisher (Mass.) in round two of the ECAC playoffs on April 3 and will take on Nichols (Mass.) in the first round of the NACE playoffs on April 1.

The Rocket League Orange team of Maximus Pearson, Carson Barnett, and Caidin Hughes fell to Roger Williams (R.I) 4-0 in round one of the ECAC playoffs. The team dropped game one 5-1, game two 4-1, game three 6-2, and game four 4-1

The Rocket League Academy team is set to take on Anderson (Ind.) in the NACE playoffs on April 1.

How It Happened | Smash Bros

In Smash 3v3, Jaime Mora, Casey Yawn, Alsender Miller took down Penn State – Behrend 2-1 to open their ECAC playoff campaign. After dropping game one 9-6, the Barons bounced back to take game two 9-5 and game three 9-8 to take the round one victory.

The Smash 3v3 team will take on Saint Francis (Pa.) for round two of the ECAC playoffs on April 1 and the Smash 4v4 team will face Florida Tech for the opening round of the NACE playoffs on April 4.

How It Happened | NBA 2K

Aaron Udell did not compete this week and will face Cumberland (Tenn.) to open the ECAC playoffs on April 2.  

How It Happened | Fortnite

The Fortnite trios and duos teams competed this week but the scores have not been released.
