MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference weekend series for Brewton-Parker Baseball concluded on Saturday as the Barons (11-9, 3-3 SSAC) remained in Montgomery, Ala. for a doubleheader against Faulkner (Ala.).
Brewton-Parker dropped the first game of the day in a seven-inning, 17-7 loss and followed up with a 4-1 win in the series finale against the Eagles (10-3, 5-1 SSAC).

The Barons were left scoreless in the opening frame despite a leadoff single from
Carson Kirby as well as a double from
Brandon Lawrence. Brewton-Parker eventually broke the drought with four hits to score three runs in the top of the second inning.
Drew DeMasi doubled from leadoff position to begin the inning before
Jacob Mantooth hit a two-run homer for the 2-0 lead. After an error put
Jack Morris on base, the Barons eventually scored a third run with an RBI single from
Tate Worrell for the 3-0 advantage.
Faulkner responded with three hits which included a homer to put a run on the board in the bottom of the second inning. The Eagles tied the game in the bottom of the third inning with a two-RBI double.
Brewton-Parker reclaimed the lead in the fourth inning with a run pushed in on an error. Faulkner blew the game open with 10 runs scored in the bottom of the fourth inning, producing five hits in the process.
The Barons followed up with a run scored on a wild pitch for the fifth run of the game. Faulkner added four more runs to the tally with a grand slam to move to a 17-5 lead in the bottom half of the fifth. BPC added scores in the sixth and the seventh for a 17-7 scoreline but was unable to advance the score further.

- Faulkner led 16-9 in hits.
- Kirby and DeMasi led BPC with two hits each while Mantooth led with three RBIs.
- Lawrence and DeMasi recorded doubles.
- Mantooth notched a homer and a sacrifice fly.
- A total of seven Barons were hit by a pitch.
- Ty Cook (3-2) earned the start and pitched for 3.0 innings, recording two strikeouts and walking four batters.

Brewton-Parker scored four runs in the opening inning with Kirby leading the way with a double to right center and eventually scoring on a wild pitch. Worrell singled to bring in the second run before BPC added a third and fourth run on a balk.
The Eagles notched three hits and scored just one run in the bottom of the eighth inning, fortunately, Brewton-Parker held Faulkner to just four hits overall for the 4-1 win.

- The Barons held a narrow 5-4 edge in hits and were led by Kirby with two hits which included a double.
- Brandon Russell earned the win (2-1), pitching for 7.1 innings, striking out 12 batters in the process.
- Carlos Rodriguez (S, 3) earned his third save of the season with 1.2 innings, striking out four batters.
