MARIETTA, Ga. – Brewton-Parker Women's Wrestling traveled to Marietta, Ga. to take on the MSC Duals hosted by Life (Ga.).
The (RV) Lady Barons finished the day with a 1-2 record, facing No. 2 Life, No. 13 Indiana Tech, and (RV) St. Andrews on Saturday.
How It Happened | BPC vs Life
The Running Eagles blanked the Lady Barons in a 49-0 win on their home mat in Marietta. Brewton-Parker had just three wrestlers compete against the No. 2-ranked team in the NAIA.
TaShayla West fell to Brianna Funakoshi in a 10-0 tech fall in the 109-lb match, giving away four team points. No. 11-ranked Jamesa Robinson was pinned (2:54) by No. 6-ranked Ariana Martinez in the 116-lb match for five team points.
Lastly, Jorie Richardson fell via fall (1:42) to No. 10 Riley Dalrymple at 136, giving away another five points to the team tally. Life took seven weight classes by forfeits to secure the 49-0 sweep.
How It Happened | BPC vs Indiana Tech
Brewton-Parker faced the Warriors on Saturday and fell 38-9, picking up wins at 116 and 130. After a West's 10-0 tech fall from No. 8 Tehani Soares at 109, Robinson produced a highlight 6-2 decision over Emma Jones at 116 for the Lady Barons' first three team points.
Kathleen Fisher downed Marisa Moffitt by a pin (4:15) at 130 to add to the BPC tally. Richardson added one additional team point in a 2-1 decision loss to No. 16-ranked Carley Anderson at 136. Indiana Tech received a total of 30 free team points as the Lady Barons gave up forfeits in six of the 10 weight classes for the 38-9 loss.

West picked up a forfeit win at 109 which was followed by a pin (0:51) from Jaelynn Sunseri over Jillian Ellis at 116. With a 10-0 lead, BPC received another forfeit win at 123 before Fisher slipped in a fall (2:33) to Tonya Flournoy at 130.
Richardson bounced back with an 8-2 decision over Markia Mingo-Strain in the 136 match for three team points and the final tally of 18 points. BPC gave away two matches to forfeits and secured a two-point victory over the Knights to close out the day.
