WEST POINT, Ga. – Brewton-Parker Women's Volleyball opened Southern States Athletic Conference play with the first match of the weekend road trip stopping in West Point for a matchup against Point (Ga.) on Friday night.
The Lady Barons (2-2, 0-1 SSAC) were downed by the Skyhawks (3-5, 1-0 SSAC) in a 3-0 match.
How It Happened
Brewton-Parker slipped up early with a 25-15 loss in the opening set, struggling to produce an attack by notching just four total kills on 24 total attacks. The Skyhawks managed to secure the set with 18 kills and a .406 hitting percentage for the early 1-0 lead.
BPC battled in set two, producing what would be their best set of the evening. The Lady Barons recorded seven kills and a .133 attacking percentage but fell shy in a 25-21 defeat in the second set. Brewton-Parker was able to strand a 6-0 run and a 4-0 run late in the set which kept the Skyhawks at bay for a moment before the hosts sealed the set shut.
Point continued their dominant play in the third set, closing out with a 25-12 victory for the 3-0 sweep at Point University Gym.

- Point led the match with a 48-14 kill advantage while also producing a .327 attacking percentage on 101 total attacks.
- BPC fought hard from the service spot, but PU narrowly took advantage with an 8-6 edge in service aces.
- Amme Mobley finished with five kills followed by Naomi Taake with four.
- Alana Garcia recorded three aces as well as nine digs while Jelisa Alexander notched 10 assists and a block.
