MARIETTA, Ga. – Southern States Athletic Conference play continued for Brewton-Parker Women's Soccer as they took on cross-state foe Life (Ga.) on Sunday afternoon in Marietta, Ga.
The Lady Barons' (0-4-1, 0-2-0 SSAC) offensive woes remained an issue on Sunday as the Running Eagles (5-20-, 3-0-0 SSAC) blanked BPC in an 8-0 match.
How It Happened | First Half
Life pressured Brewton-Parker with four shots in the first 14 minutes of play before finding the back of the net at the 18:01 mark for the early lead. The Running Eagles remained in control of the scoreline, adding goals at 20:17 and 21:28 for a three-goal advantage just before netting a fourth moments later.
The Lady Barons' offense was nowhere to be found in the first half as the Running Eagles led 13-0 in overall shot attempts. Life notched seven shots on frame in the first 45 minutes of play with BPC's
Naphtaline Clermeus recording three saves in the process.
How It Happened | Second Half
The second half was a near-mirror finish for the hosts as they managed to net four more goals, three of which were in the first 20 minutes. The Running Eagles' final goal came in the 89th minute for the 8-0 scoreline after ripping 13 shots overall with 11 finding the frame. BPC's lone shot of the day came from
Kathleen Fisher but fell wide of the mark.
